IU Southeast
New Dynamic Records and IU Southeast Music Department
The IU Southeast Music Department has degree programs in performance, composition (Film & Stage), music education, pre music therapy, and the music industry (audio production and music business). The IUSE Music Department houses one of the few programs in the United States that has developed its own commercial label specializing in the art music of living composers. Student participation from different disciplines in the School of Arts and Letters is also at the heart of New Dynamic Records. To date, the label has given $7,200 of paid internships to audio production and music business students. Fine arts majors from IU Southeast’s Design Center have contributed to the label’s album projects, winning awards such as the Gold Award from the Louisville Advertising Federation and the Silver Award from the Louisville Graphic Design Association’s 100 Show.
